Anchors
Fabchem manufactures customised anchors based on a client’s specifications and are suitable for any hole size.
Safety and Regulations
Fabchem is certified through the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) for the Quality Management System, ISO9001:2015. Critical safety ranges undergo testing by the Council for Science and Industrial Research (CSIR). All anchors have technical data sheets and technical drawing sheets.
Spin Anchors
Spin anchors are primarily used as secondary support in soft rock mines, mainly coal mines. The anchors are usually point anchored with quick set resin and, dependent on the Rock Engineer’s requirements, they may also be grouted. Spin anchors are supplied with complete dome plate, barrel and wedge. A grout tube, breather tube and gasket are provided separately should the anchor need to be grouted.
Multibulb Passive Anchors
Multibulb passive anchors are manufactured with fishhooks. The bulb spacing is carried out to the client’s specification.
Spin Trusses
Spin Trusses are used for supporting slips, faults, bullnoses, large roof spans, pillar wrapping support and friable roof conditions. The friable roof conditions are used in conjunction with mesh and straps. Trusses are customised to the client’s required length.
Mechanical Anchors
Mechanical anchors are used as secondary support in hard rock mines such as gold mines. They are used both in development ends and in the stopes. Mechanical Anchors are usually full column grouted and anchors are supplied complete with dome plate, barrel, wedge and grout fittings. The grout fittings include breather tube, grout tube and gasket.
